REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to set up an interstate transmission system (ISTS) project aimed at evacuating 4.5 GW of renewable power from the Kurnool-IV Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase 1 in Andhra Pradesh. The deadline for bid submission is December 30, 2024.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500,000 to participate, and the project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the award date. The project will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, covering all phases from survey, finance, and design to construction, testing, and commissioning. Other responsibilities include securing all necessary permits and handling compensation, engineering, and equipment.
Also, consortiums are permitted, provided one company is designated as the lead member. In addition, bidders need proven experience in infrastructure projects over the past five years with a combined capital expenditure of at least Rs 31.55 billion, and individual project expenditures of minimum Rs 6.31 billion. Additionally, bidders must have had a minimum net worth of Rs 12.61 billion for the last three financial years.
In October 2024, RECPDCL floated a tender for selection of a transmission service provider to establish an ISTS project for a network expansion programme, accommodating pumped hydro storage projects near Talegaon in Pune, Maharashtra.
