RECPDCL Issues Tender for 2.5 GW Renewable Energy Evacuation

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has invited bids for the development of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to evacuate 2,500 MW of renewable energy from Madhya Pradesh. The project will support power evacuation from renewable energy projects in Rajgarh SEZ (Phase III) with a capacity of 1,500 MW and Neemuch SEZ (Phase II) with a capacity of 1,000 MW. 

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders must submit a money deposit of Rs 337.6 million. The scope of work includes the installation of 220 kV and 400 kV substations, the development of 400/220 kV and 3 x 500 MVA transformers at Pachora and Neemuch, and the deployment of switchable line reactors at both ends of the major transmission lines. Additionally, selected bidders must integrate a loop-in-loop-out connection into the existing transmission network and establish the 400/220 kV Handiya substation. The project must be commissioned within 24 months of the award. The deadline for bid submission is May 28, 2025.

According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must have developed projects with a total capital expenditure of Rs 16.88 billion over the last five years, including at least one project valued at Rs 3.376 billion. Only projects commissioned at least seven days before the bid deadline will be considered. Additionally, bidders must have a minimum net worth of Rs 6.752 billion, based on audited accounts from any of the last three financial years, and must not have reported a negative net worth in any of those years.
