REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has issued a tender to develop an intra-state transmission system (ISTS) for evacuating power from the proposed 2,000 MW pumped storage project (PSP) at the Sharavathi complex in Karnataka. The project spans multiple locations, including Sharavathi, Guttu, and Talaguppa. The bid submission deadline is May 15, 2026.

According to the tender guidelines, the project scope involves setting up a 400 kV switching station at Guttur, developing 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines using Quad Moose conductors, carrying out transformer augmentation at Talaguppa, and strengthening existing 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines, along with underground cable conversion and related infrastructure. The project will be executed under a build, own, operate, and transfer model with a total concession period of 35 years, including operations and maintenance.
