Prostarm Info Systems Limited has won Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited’s (KPTCL) auction to set up a 150 MW/300 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Doni substation in Gadag district, Karnataka.
The project will be developed on a build-own-operate model for 12 years. Prostarm secured the capacity at a tariff of Rs 254,000 per MW per month, which includes the state component for viability gap funding (VGF). Under the VGF, the company is eligible to receive the lower of Rs 2.70 million or up to 30 per cent of the project’s capital cost.
