Ocean Winds and Eletrobras have partnered to explore offshore wind energy opportunities in Brazil. The collaboration, aimed at sharing knowledge and resources, was formalised through a MoU during the 2024 Brazil Wind Power event. Ocean Winds, formed as a 50-50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, has signed the MoU with Eletrobras.

By leveraging Ocean Winds’ expertise in offshore wind and Eletrobras’ leadership in power generation and transmission, the collaboration will help Brazil meet its climate commitments made during the last COP. Additionally, this initiative is expected to drive sustainable development, create opportunities for the local supply chain, and contribute to long-term economic growth.

Earlier this year, Ocean Winds announced a strategic collaboration with Martifer Renewables & Energy for Portugal’s first offshore wind farm tender. The partnership is expected to leverage Ocean Winds’ global expertise in offshore wind development and operations, including its experience with the WindFloat Atlantic floating wind farm in Portugal.
