Maharashtra issues tender for 400 MW rooftop solar projects

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) has issued a request for proposals for the appointment of project developers to install 400 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects. To be located in Maharashtra, the projects will be set up as a part of renewable energy service company model.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes designing, engineering, supply, finance, installation, testing, and commissioning. The developers will also be responsible for operations and maintenance for a period of 20 years. The bid submission deadline is April 2, 2024.

The bidders are required to submit bids for one or more project categories, contributing to an estimated total capacity of 100,000 kW for all the categories. Category A1 applies to micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) with approved demand ranging from 20 kW to 100 kW. While, MSMEs falling under category A2 and A3 have approved demand ranging from 101 kW to 250 kW and 251 kW to 1000 kW, respectively. Category A4 includes MSMEs with approved demand exceeding 1000 kW. The project aims to encompass a capacity of 400,000 kW across these specified categories.

For category A1, A2, A3, and A4, bidders are required to possess expertise in designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning grid-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of over 200 kW, 500 kW, 1,000 kW, and 2,000 kW, respectively.

Recently, in August 2023, MAHAPREIT issued tender to install and commission 100 MW grid-connected distributed solar projects at various locations in Maharashtra.
