The Kajra Solar Power Plant in Lakhisarai district has energised its 132 kV transmission line and a 100 MVA (33/132 kV) power transformer.
The transmission line has been connected to the grid substations at Haveli Kharagpur and Lakhisarai, enabling reliable evacuation of solar power and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to local consumers. The development allows for daytime solar power injection as well as 4–5 hours of supply during peak demand through the associated battery energy storage system (BESS). Phase I of the Kajra project comprises 185 MW of solar capacity along with 254 MWh of BESS, with an investment of about Rs 18.10 billion. Phase II involves 116 MW of solar capacity and 241 MWh of BESS at a cost of around Rs 10.55 billion and is targeted for completion by January 2027. The project is being monitored by Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited and Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited.
