JERA Nex and Catalyst Energy Partners (CEP) have formed a strategic alliance to drive the development, construction, ownership, and operation of new clean energy facilities in key US markets. This collaboration aims to expedite the deployment of large-scale renewable energy projects by leveraging existing grid infrastructure and aligning renewable projects with conventional power plants to enhance grid efficiency.

JERA Nex will bring financial backing, strategic oversight, and operational expertise to advance CEP’s portfolio of clean energy assets, integrating them into the global JERA Nex portfolio over time. With CEP’s innovative approach to maximising current grid infrastructure, the partnership is  positioned to meet the growing demand for renewable energy in US, particularly in high-growth areas.

Earlier this year, JERA Nex acquired two U.S. solar projects with a total capacity of 395 MW from Lightsource bp, marking its inaugural transaction since its founding in April. The acquisition includes JERA Nex’s first solar assets in  US: the 300 MW Oxbow solar farm in Louisiana and the 95 MW Happy solar farm in Arkansas.
