JERA Nex has purchased two US solar projects with a combined capacity of 395 MW from Lightsource bp. The transaction has gained all regulatory clearances, is JERA Nex’s first since its establishment in April. It includes its first US solar assets: the 300 MW Oxbow solar farm in Louisiana and the 95 MW Happy solar farm in Arkansas.

Furthermore, both the plants are commercially operational and provide renewable energy to their clients. The Happy project has secured a long-term power purchase agreement with Conway Corp, the city’s utility company in Conway, Arkansas. Oxbow has signed long-term PPA deals with McDonald’s and eBay. As part of the deal, Lightsource bp will continue to give asset management and operation and maintenance services to JERA Nex.
