Jakson Engineering to Invest ₹20 Billion in 2.5 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility

Jakson Engineering Limited (JEL) has announced an investment of Rs 20 billion to set up a 2.5 GW solar cell manufacturing plant. The module manufacturing plant is estimated to be completed in six months while the commissioning of the solar cell plant will take place in the coming 15 months. The projects are expected to generate employment for 1,200 individuals. The company is also planning to expand their present solar module manufacturing capacity to 2,000 MW.

In August 2024, JEL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the State Bank of India to set up solar projects to consumers across commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors under the Surya Shakti Solar finance initiative. In June 2024, Jakson Green bagged a flue gas CO2 to 4G ethanol project from NTPC Limited for a power plant located in Lara, Chhattisgarh.
