Godawari Power & Ispat Limited, through its subsidiary Godawari New Energy, has unveiled plans to scale up the capacity of its 10 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing plant to 40 GWh. The plant will be commissioned in two phases and will receive an investment of Rs 16.25 billion from the company.
In the first phase, the company plans to develop 20 GWh of capacity with an investment of Rs 10.25 billion. Furthermore, this phase is expected to be commissioned in the financial year 2027.
Additionally, in the second phase, the company will scale up capacity to 40 GWh at an additional cost of Rs 6 billion. It is expected to be operationalised in the financial year 2029.
