Gautam Solar has announced its plan to launch and establish a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing plant. The estimated cost of constructing the plant is Rs 10 billion. The company’s main objective of developing this plant is to align its products to the guidelines issued by Government of India to include solar cells in the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM). This will benefit them by expanding domestic production and reducing imports.
With the increased production, the company will aim to meet the rising demand for domestic content requirement (DCR) panels, required for government-backed subsidy projects. These projects need locally manufactured components. Further, Gautam Solar has also bought 60-acres of land in Bhiwani, Haryana, for the purpose of manufacturing solar panels and their raw materials.
In July 2024, Gautam Solar announced the filing of a patent design registration for its packaging pallet designed for the storage and transportation of solar panels. In May 2024, Gautam Solar collaborated with Redington Limited, a technology solutions provider, to distribute Gautam Solar’s solar modules across India. Through this partnership, Redington would facilitate the efficient distribution of Gautam Solar’s solar panels, including Mono PERC and N-type TOPCon Panels, within the solar energy industry.
