ESSCI and ABB India Unveil Smart Training Center for Electricians in Faridabad

Faridabad/New Delhi: Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), in collaboration with ABB India, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art smart center for electrician training at Sai Dham, Faridabad. This significant initiative was formally launched recently with a ceremonial lamp-lighting by the program’s chief guest, Dr. Motilal Gupta, Founder President of Sai Dham, along with Sanjay Joon, Commissioner of Faridabad Division, Dr Sunil Gulati, Chief Information Officer of the Haryana Government, Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI, Mr Sujeet Gosain, HR Head, ABB & Major Dhiraj Yadav, Admin Officer, ABB.

The inauguration marks a pivotal step in the ongoing efforts to bridge the skills gap in India’s electronics sector. The center is designed to provide cutting-edge training to young individuals, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in today’s competitive job market. The initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on enhancing vocational training to create a skilled workforce that can meet industry demands.

A key highlight of the event was the exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sujit Gusain,HR Head of ABB India and Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of ESSCI. This partnership is set to deliver a comprehensive program aimed at not only training but also providing job opportunities for young electricians.

The training program at the smart center will involve an end-to-end management solution that begins with screening and selecting the right candidates. These individuals will undergo an extensive training regimen of over 540 hours, spanning approximately 90 days. This rigorous curriculum is designed to ensure that trainees receive practical, hands-on experience that meets the latest industry standards. Upon completion, ESSCI will work closely with industry partners to facilitate job placements, ensuring that the trainees can transition smoothly into employment.

Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This partnership with ABB India represents a significant milestone in our mission to empower the youth with the skills needed to succeed in today’s job market. By focusing on both upskilling current workers and training new entrants, we are creating a sustainable pipeline of talent ready to meet the evolving demands of the electronics industry.”

Commenting on the development, Sanjeev Arora, President, Motion Business, ABB India said, “This initiative is a significant step towards addressing the skill gap in the electronics sector. By focusing on both upskilling the existing workforce and training the youth, we aim to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals ready to meet the demands of the industry.”

Through this collaborative effort, ESSCI and ABB India are paving the way for a brighter, more skilled future for India’s youth, ensuring they are well-prepared to seize the opportunities that lie ahead.
