Ellume Solar has been granted a letter of award by Maharashtra State Power Generation Company to construct 100 MW grid-connected solar power projects in Aurangabad.

By quoting a tariff of Rs 2.97 per kWh, Ellume secured the project to deliver electricity to agricultural feeders on a public-private partnership model as a part of Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojna. Ellume Solar is required to provide the confirmed locations for establishing the project by March 23, 2024. Before signing the power purchase agreement, the company is required to furnish Rs 500,000 per MW as a performance bank guarantee.

The tender was issued in August 2022 for the development of 600 MW (100 MW x 6) solar projects across Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Konkan, Nashik, and Pune. The uncertified land for the projects, which may be either owned or leased, should be located in close proximity to the 11 kV substation of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL). Ellume is responsible for verifying and evaluating the capacity and grid connectivity of the substation. The company is also required to build and install a complete evacuation line, including availability-based tariff meters, connecting the switchyard of the solar power project to the nearest MSEDCL substation. The meters will be positioned at the MSEDCL substation.
