EcoCortec®, a leading European manufacturer of green VCI films and daughter company of Cortec®   Corporation has broken ground on a new logistics center near its existing facilities in Beli Manastir. Expected to open this October, the €2 million investment marks a major new phase of expansion for the company. The current operations in Beli Manastir will grow with a new 1,500-square-meter facility, creating a central warehousing and logistics hub. Croatian company Massa, a long-term partner on EcoCortec’s construction projects, will serve as the main contractor. This expansion will bring all logistics under one roof, improve daily operations, and strengthen the company’s position on the global market. Keeping all inventory in a single location will simplify the supply chain, resulting in faster customer deliveries and a smaller environmental footprint.

„New logistics center is a continuation of the successful EcoCortec® project, which I launched back in 2005 and has been a part of my life for the last 20 years. By consolidating our warehousing, this expansion will drastically improve our operational efficiency, allowing us to deliver faster, superior, and more competitive service to our global customer base. I am especially proud that this is a green investment. By repurposing existing facilities, we are putting the circular economy into practice and advancing our commitment to sustainable operations,” stated Boris Miksic, CEO and owner of Cortec® Corporation, a global leader in corrosion protection whose Croatian-based European subsidiary, EcoCortec®, exports worldwide. “With excellent support from the City of Beli Manastir and great teamwork, we are making this project a reality. It is a smart business step for faster deliveries, and a true investment that aligns with our circular economy principles,” Miksic added.

Local leadership, led by Beli Manastir Mayor Igor Pavelic, also joined the groundbreaking ceremony. In his remarks, Mayor Pavelic applauded the city’s enduring partnership with EcoCortec®. He noted that the company has been operating successfully in the city’s Industrial Zone for over 20 years, serving as an excellent example of close collaboration between entrepreneurs and local government.

Corridor 5C as a Strategic Advantage: Faster Deliveries and Renewed Investment Wave

The completion of the Croatian section of Corridor 5C has proven to be a strong driver of investment for Beli Manastir. Opening the final five kilometers of the highway toward Hungary has already led to increased investor interest in the Business Zone, while existing businesses are quickly expanding their capacities. “The idea of building EcoCortec® in this zone was based on the planned highway right next to us. Since it opened, we are much closer to our customers and faster in our deliveries, which is extremely important in today’s business,” points out Dijana Zrinski, EcoCortec’s General Manager.

“EcoCortec’s investments and success clearly show that Croatia is an excellent location for high-tech manufacturing. The growth potential for high-tech companies here is steadily increasing, making us very optimistic about the future,” emphasizes Boris Miksic. He adds: “I could have set up production anywhere in the world, but investing in Croatia has been a complete success! Our company’s achievements and global exports have done a great deal to promote local green technologies, which are now recognized and highly valued worldwide.”
