Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC) will develop its second solar power farm with a capacity of 69 MW in Negros Occidental, Philippines.

The project, located in Silay City, will cost PHP3 billion and is expected to commence operations by the end of 2024. It will be developed under the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Green Energy Auction Program 2. This move is in line with CREC’s goal of contributing 1 GW of ready-to-build solar energy capacity annually till 2029. This is in line with DOE’s Philippine Energy Plan to achieve 35 per cent renewable energy share in the power generation mix by 2030 and 50 per cent by 2040.
