New Delhi – Aptronix has launched a new device exchange programme that allows customers to submit up to 10 electronic devices of any brand and condition for responsible recycling or refurbishment. The initiative, called Limitless Aptronix Exchange, is powered by device lifecycle management firm Servify and recycling partner Karo Sambhav, a government-authorized Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO).

The programme accepts functional as well as non-functional devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, wearables and select household electronics. Functional devices receive instant valuation through Servify’s diagnostic system, with the assessed value applied toward the purchase of new Apple products. The devices that have no resale value are accepted for recycling, with customers receiving vouchers and a tree planted on their behalf.

According to Aptronix, the initiative is designed to address India’s growing e-waste challenge. The company has stated that the programme aims to divert a significant number of unused or discarded devices from landfills in its first year of operation.

Servify’s platform is used to assess devices and record their movement through certified refurbishment or recycling channels. Karo Sambhav will manage the recycling process in line with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) guidelines, providing traceability from collection to final processing.

Speaking at the launch, Meghna Singh, CEO, Aptronix, said, “The programme was intended to make responsible disposal easier for consumers.” “We want to reduce the barriers that prevent people from recycling old devices.” she said.

Sreevathsa Prabhakar, Founder & CEO, Servify, noted that technology plays a key role in formalising device collection and recycling. “Transparent valuation and traceable recycling are essential to scaling responsible device management.” he said.

The initiative has been rolled out across Aptronix retail locations and is open to all customers, regardless of brand ownership. Aptronix said it will track environmental metrics such as the number of devices collected and recycled, alongside participation rates.

The industry observers note that such initiatives align with increasing regulatory focus on e-waste management and producer responsibility, as India continues to strengthen its environmental compliance framework for electronics and consumer devices.
