  • Trusted by leaders across industries – Supporting critical battery decisions in space, defence, aviation, drones, automotive, and motorsport by delivering high-fidelity data and simulation tools tailored to real-world applications
  • Over 30 cutting-edge cell models – Providing high-accuracy models for premium cells from LG, Samsung, Molicel, Amprius, and Inobat to enable faster, smarter cell selection and pack design
  • 500+ cells tested in-house – Leveraging its 3,000ft² battery testing facility to deliver best-in-class data, including long-term degradation programmes running for over a year
  • A growing team of battery specialists – Expanded by over 50% this year to 20 employees, including key hires from leading industry players to deepen customer support and technical capabilities

London: About:Energy announced a series of major growth milestones, reinforcing its position as the go-to technical partner for organisations aiming to accelerate time to market, reduce development costs, and make right-first-time decisions through simulation.

The Voltt, About:Energy’s flagship database of commercial battery models, now features over 30 high-performance cells across a range of formats and chemistries from industry leaders like LG, Samsung, and Molicel, as well as next-generation innovators including Amprius and Inobat.

This expanded library enables customers to evaluate cell selection, thermal strategies, and fast-charging protocols early in the design process, supporting faster, more confident technical and commercial decisions.

About:Energy has now tested over 500 commercial cells at its 3,000ft² London facility, including 12-month degradation programmes that underpin industry-leading simulation models. Critically, it collects all its own high-precision data rather than relying on manufacturer specifications or third-party sources, ensuring complete accuracy and reliability. These models enable engineering teams to make right-first-time decisions, avoiding costly guesswork while accelerating design timelines without compromising accuracy.

The team has also grown by over 50 percent, bringing in senior talent from high-growth technology and battery companies to scale product development and customer success. Recent hires include Lorenzo Bergamaschi (Founder’s Associate, previously CTO at Allye), Emily Anshaw (Head of People Operations, ex-Transition Zero), Jack Evans (Lead Test Engineer, ex-Northvolt), and Miles Robertson (Staff Applications Engineer, formerly of McLAren and Lilium).

Gavin White, Co-founder and CEO of About:Energy said:

“We’re seeing momentum as companies recognise the value of simulation-based battery development. Our platform helps engineers answer critical questions before investing in hardware—whether testing motorsports drive cycles, thermal models for eVTOL missions, or predicting cycle life for drones. The Voltt eliminates the barrier of needing extensive engineering teams and lab facilities to predict battery behaviours.”

About:Energy continues to deepen relationships with US and EU cell manufacturers, helping them deliver enhanced data products—particularly valuable where supply chain security and local sourcing are priorities.

The company’s customer base continues to diversify, with growing traction across space, defence, aviation, drones, automotive and motorsport sectors. Most customers are using its models and data to make early design decisions around cell selection, thermal management, or fast charging before investing in hardware development.

Kieran O’Regan, CGO and co-founder of About:Energy said:

“The London test facility has been critical to unlocking our growth. It gives us complete control over how we test and validate cells, enabling us to meet customer timelines far more reliably. For companies pursuing aircraft certification or working to urgent defence timelines, access to high-quality data quickly is often the key blocker. We’ve removed that blocker.

We’re also leveraging state-of-the-art academic research and engineering innovation built entirely in-house to unlock efficiency gains across the testing and modelling process. This allows us to pass time and cost savings directly onto our customers. Every year, we are driving down the barriers to adopting simulation in battery development, making it more accessible and impactful across the industry”

The company’s growth trajectory continues to be supported by an impressive roster of advisors. Thierry Bolloré, former CEO of Jaguar Land Rover and Renault, brings extensive experience in leading complex transformations. At Jaguar Land Rover, he launched the ambitious “Reimagine” strategy, steering the company towards electrification and setting a zero-carbon target for 2039.

Tudor Brown, Co-Founder and former President of ARM Holdings, played a pivotal role in developing ARM’s innovative business model, which propelled the company to become a leader in semiconductor IP and software design. Their strategic guidance has been instrumental in scaling both the technical and commercial aspects of About:Energy’s business
