Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that Simple Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has expanded its adoption of Siemens Xcelerator’s cloud-based software solutions to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as it scales its electric vehicle portfolio.
The company has expanded its use of Teamcenter X software for product lifecycle management (PLM) and Designcenter X software for advanced vehicle engineering. Simple Energy is also leveraging Teamcenter X advanced product configurator capabilities to manage complex vehicle variants and enterprise-level bills of materials (BOMs), enabling greater collaboration across engineering teams while maintaining flexibility and cost efficiency.
Simple Energy initially adopted Teamcenter X to establish a centralized product data management backbone and improve collaboration across engineering functions. As its EV programs matured, the company expanded its use of Siemens’ software to support enterprise BOM management and variant configuration, including a ‘150 percent BOM approach’ that enables efficient management of multiple vehicle variants.
To address increasing design and assembly complexity, the company has also replaced its legacy 3D CAD solution with Siemens’ Designcenter X. The integrated environment supports advanced surface design, large assembly performance, and 3D electrical routing and harness design, helping engineering teams accelerate development while managing growing product complexity.
The expanded adoption highlights how scalable, cloud-based solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio can help electric vehicle manufacturers strengthen their digital foundation, accelerate innovation, and support long-term business growth.
