Cypress Creek Energy and Google have commenced construction of the first two phases of the Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas, US. The initial phases will deliver 1.6 GWdc of solar capacity and 1.9 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS). The full three-phase of the project will reach 2.5 GWdc of solar and 2.9 GWh of BESS by 2029. Google has signed a power purchase agreement for the output from the first two phases.

Additionally, the project will utilize 100 per cent of First Solar modules, LG Energy Solution Vertech BESS, and domestically manufactured steel, while Moss will serve as the EPC contractor for the project. The project will generate enough electricity to power more than 315,000 households annually. Google and Cypress Creek have also committed $8 million towards community investment initiatives in Arkansas.
