Invenergy and Meta have inked four agreements to supply an additional 791 MW of procured solar and wind energy. The agreements will deliver near-term energy to support Meta’s operations, data center growth, and clean energy goals.
The agreements are contracted through four Invenergy developed facilities, which are the 300 MW Yellow Wood Solar Energy Center, 140 MW Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center, and 155 MW Decoy Solar Energy Center. The three energy centers are expected to reach commercial operations in 2026. The fourth facility is the 196 MW Seaway Wind Energy Center, which is expected to reach commercial operations in 2028. The facilities are strategically located across US.
The agreements come after the announcement made by Meta in 2024 about the 1,000 MW of total procured energy from Invenergy. Furthermore, together, these projects bring the partnership of the two companies to a total of 1,800 MW. The electricity from these projects will be delivered to the local grid. Additionally, Meta will secure the clean energy credits associated with the new generation capacity coming online.
