Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has issued a request for proposal to implement 500 MW of rooftop solar projects with a 50 per cent greenshoe option across multiple locations in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. The projects are divided into four categories based on the approved demand of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs): A1 (20 kW to 100 kW), A2 (101 kW to 250 kW), A3 (251 kW to 1,000 kW), and A4 (above 1,000 kW), with each category being allotted a capacity of 125 MW. The estimated cost per MW is Rs 37.5 million.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of the project includes the design, engineering, financing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems. The projects must be connected to existing mains/AC distribution box and integrated with internal electrical loads and the network of the distribution licensee. Only components listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers are to be used. The selected bidders will also be responsible for comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services for 20 years. Additionally, all the associated works related to project commissioning and O&M must be carried out by the developer. The completion timeline for the projects is 12 months from the award date. The bidders must submit a bid security amount of Rs 225,000. The deadline for bid submission is July 15, 2025.
According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must be a body corporate incorporated in India, a partnership firm, a limited liability partnership firm, or a registered sole proprietor. For A1, the bidders must have commissioned solar projects with a cumulative capacity above 200 kW, including at least one project of over 20 kW capacity. For A2, the cumulative capacity must exceed 500 kW, including at least one project of over 100 kW capacity. For A3, the requirement is over 1 MW cumulative capacity and at least one project above 100 kW capacity. For A4, bidders must have implemented over 2 MW in total, including one project above 500 kW and two others with a capacity of more than 250 kW each. All referenced projects must have been operational for at least one year. Additionally, the bidders must have executed projects covering at least 30 per cent of the tendered capacity They should also have a minimum net worth of Rs 2.5 million per MW or an annual average turnover of Rs 10 million per MW over the past three years.
