Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of Torrent Power, has secured a letter of award (LoA) to develop a 300 MW wind power project. The project was secured in Solar Energy Corporation of India wind power project Tranche-XVIII auction, at a tariff of Rs 3.97 per kWh.
The estimated investment for the project stands at approximately Rs 26.5 billion. According to the project terms, the power purchase agreement (PPA) must be executed prior to commencement, and the entire project is to be commissioned within 24 months from the date of execution of the PPA.
In January 2025, Torrent Power Limited contracted Suzlon for a 486 MW hybrid wind energy project in Gujarat’s Bhogat region, taking its total orders with the company to 1 GW across Gujarat and Karnataka.
