Indus Towers Limited has finalised an agreement to acquire a 26 per cent stake in a 50 MW solar power plant for captive consumption. The plant will be developed by Amplus Tungabhadra, a special purpose vehicle established by Amplus Energy Solutions to own and operate the facility.
The transaction, valued at approximately Rs 270 million, aligns with regulatory requirements for captive power plants. Indus Towers will utilise the full 50 MW of renewable energy generated by the project to support its operations.
In April 2024, Indus Towers Limited and NTPC Green Energy Limited signed an MoU to jointly develop grid-connected renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage, to supply power for Indus Towers’ operations nationwide.
