Essar Renewables Limited has signed a MoU with the Government of Maharashtra for the development of 2,000 MW of renewable energy capacity to support Maharashtra’s green mobility initiative. The project involves an investment of approximately Rs 80 billion in round-the-clock renewable energy projects, primarily focused on powering the electric vehicle truck charging infrastructure of Blue Energy Motors and Greenline.

The proposed projects are expected to commence operations in the fiscal year 2026-27. Additionally, the investment is anticipated to create direct employment opportunities for over 2,000 individuals, further contributing to Maharashtra’s transition to green energy and boosting the state’s economic growth.
