Suzlon and JSP Green Wind 1 Pvt. Limited, a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables, have joined forces for a 302.4 MW wind power project in the Koppal region of Karnataka which brings their total collaboration to 702.4 MW. As per the agreement, Suzlon will supply 96 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators equipped with hybrid lattice towers, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW.
This project is aimed at supporting green steel production and contributing to India’s renewable energy targets. The power generated will be used for captive consumption in steel plants located in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, enhancing their sustainability and operational efficiency.
In September 2024, Suzlon received a 1,166 MW wind energy order from NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). The company will supply and install 370 wind turbine generators for two projects of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and one project of Indian Oil Corporation Limited-NGEL joint venture in Gujarat.
