ITI Limited, a telecom manufacturer, has secured a contract valued at approximately Rs 3 billion from the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA). The contract involves supplying and installing 100,000 solar street light systems for the Bihar State Government. This project builds on the 80,000 solar street lights ITI is already installing in the state for BREDA.

These solar street lights will be set up under the “Mukhyamantri Gramin Solar Street Light Yojana” which aims to enhance rural infrastructure with sustainable energy. ITI’s Naini Plant, which has been producing solar panels for over six years, will play a key role in this initiative. The installation will cover various districts, including Gopalgunj, Siwan, Samastipur, Purnia, Araria, Gaya, Darbhanga, Patna, Katihar, and Khagaria.

The project’s execution will be under BREDA. It will involve key components like solar PV modules, solar batteries, LED luminaries, mounting structures, and other essential elements. In addition to this project, ITI Limited recently secured an order for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from the State Election Commission of West Bengal.
