The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has issued a tender for setting up a 400 MW/800 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS). There is also an additional green shoe option of the same capacity. The last date of submission of bids is October 16, 2024.

The scope of the tender covers establishing the BESS and setting an interconnection with the state transmission network. The main objective of the project is that the energy storage facility should be available to GUVNL for charging/discharging the BESS on an immediate basis.
