The Odisha government has sanctioned a total of Rs 4.11 billion for two major projects in the clean energy sector. The two projects include a 100 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic captive power project of Envirocare Infrasolution in Boudh with an investment of Rs 3.51 billion. Another project is for Solisys Solar’s manufacturing facility for solar modules in Khurdha with an investment of Rs 595 million. These projects received recent approval during the 130th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting. The sanctioned investments in renewable energy will make a substantial contribution to the state’s clean energy objectives. These investments are projected to create 19,364 jobs across 14 districts.

In July 2024, the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission stated that starting July 2, 2024, rooftop solar photovoltaic systems with capacities up to 10 kW will no longer need a technical feasibility study for approval. In the same month, the Odisha government approved the investment proposals totaling Rs 9.03 billion in the renewable energy sector.
