South Korea’s Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), in a bid to advance its commitment to forge global partnerships and leverage its expertise in emerging new technologies, recently signed several memoranda of understanding (MoU) with state-owned utilities of Vietnam, Indonesia and Mozambique.

KEPCO and Electricity Vietnam signed an MoU to develop new technologies and address climate change. This cooperation focuses on new business areas, including building next-generation power grids, and expands KEPCO’s business base in Vietnam. In another development, KEPCO signed an MoU with Indonesia’s PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) and Siemens for joint promotion of new technologies and businesses. This includes a high voltage direct current project to connect Java and Sumatra Islands in Indonesia. Separately, KEPCO also signed an MoU with Indonesia’s Barito to jointly promote power generation business capabilities and develop new energy technologies such as ammonia co-fired power generation.
