Juniper Green Energy has announced the commercialisation of its first wind power project, bolstering Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity by 70 MW. Presently, 25.2 MW is actively operating as part of the project’s phased deployment. The project has been commissioned nearly 9 months ahead of the scheduled commercial operation date.

This project will supply electricity to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited at a tariff rate of Rs 2.9 per kWh, as a part of a 25-year power purchase agreement. This is in line with initiatives to offer economical and environmentally sustainable energy solutions. The project is anticipated to generate approximately 230 million units of power annually, supporting Gujarat’s renewable energy objectives and mitigating an estimated 213,055 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. Furthermore, this endeavor will provide electricity to approximately 45,440 households.

Recently, in April 2024, Juniper Green Energy announced the commencement of operations of the 105 MW Jalkot solar power project in Maharashtra.

In February 2024, Juniper Green Energy collaborated with Envision Energy to set up a 300-MW wind energy project in Gujarat.
