During India Energy Week held in Goa, ONGC and NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has entered into a joint venture agreement. The agreement marks a collaboration to develop renewable energy projects with a focus on offshore wind. Opportunities in storage, e-mobility, carbon credits, green hydrogen and its derivatives were also discussed. This strategic partnership between NGEL and ONGC aligns with India’s renewable energy goals. By combining expertise and resources, the entities aim to significantly contribute to the nation’s sustainable energy landscape.

Recently, in February 2024, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited issued a tender to select hybrid energy generators for the delivery of power from 1,000 MW inter-state transmission connected wind-solar hybrid projects, tranche-V, with or without energy storage system in India.

In the same month, NTPC REL issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction of 500 MW (2X250 MW), of grid-connected solar projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

In January 2024, NTPC REL issued a tender to supply bifacial solar modules, of cumulative DC capacity of 1,515 MWp, (comprising four blocks, each with a capacity of 378.75 MWp) having wattage output of at least 540 Wp each, for 1,200 MW Khavda solar project, north block, in Gujarat.
