Promethean Energy has raised $2 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Transition VC. The round also saw participation from Sangam Venture, Sagana Capital, and Fondation Botnar. The funds will be used to expand the company’s product offerings, scale its operations, and strengthen its presence across India and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, the company plans to develop an AI-powered thermal energy optimisation platform and build a national network of sales and service engineers. It also aims to expand into international markets through pilot projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the Middle East.
Promethean Energy, established in 2014, is a clean technology based in Mumbai that builds industrial heat pump systems and waste heat recovery solutions aimed at replacing fossil fuel use in process heating and hot water applications across factories. The company’s long term goal includes decarbonising 1,000 factories by 2027, through collaborations with original equipment manufacturers and engineering, procurement and construction players.
