Zurich Kotak Launches ‘EV Protect’ Insurance, Now Available for Tesla and Other EVs

Mumbai : Zurich Kotak General Insurance has announced the launch of EV Protect, a comprehensive add-on cover within its car insurance product, Car Secure, for Indian electric vehicles (EVs), which covers Tesla among other EVs. With a host of innovative features, Zurich Kotak is confident that the product offering will provide owners with tailored, tech-first protection that’s as advanced as the vehicles themselves.

With EVs becoming popular on the Indian roads and a common part of daily transit, EV Protect is a cover specifically designed to meet the needs of the evolving mobility landscape. This add-on cover has been developed to meet the unique needs of EV owners, addressing real-world concerns such as battery, motor, and charger protection, including fixed charging units.

  • Provides mandatory Third-Party Protection (as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988), and Comprehensive Coverage can also be availed.
  • Specifically designed to cover EV’s Battery Management System (BMS), Motor, and Charger from unexpected issues like power surges, short circuit, or water damage, charging equipment damage caused due to theft or rodent attack.
