Vestas has received an order for the 1.1 GW Inch Cape Offshore Wind project in Scotland. The order has been secured from Inch Cape Offshore Limited, a joint venture that is equally owned by ESB and Red Rock Renewables. The agreement covers the supply, installation, and commissioning of 72 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines. Furthermore, upon completion of the project, Vestas will provide a 10-year service agreement. This will be followed by an operational support agreement.
The Inch Cape offshore site is located in the Scottish North Sea, approximately 15 km off the Angus coast, with turbine installation operations planned from the Port of Dundee. Wind turbine installation is scheduled to commence in 2026, with the wind farm expected to become fully operational by 2027.
Vestas has been successfully securing contracts in the wind power sector across Europe. Earlier this month, Vestas secured a 900 MW order from RWE for the Nordsee cluster B offshore wind project in Germany. Additionally, in July 2024 Vestas secured an order from Oranje Wind in the Netherlands to supply 53 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the Oranje Wind offshore wind project.
