TSERC Fines Telangana’s Southern Power for Developers’ Outstanding Bills

The Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission has levied a penalty of Rs 50,000 on the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana (TGSPDCL) for not adhering to a prior order that required the payment of outstanding energy bills and Late Payment Surcharges.

TGSPDCL also failed to follow the instructions to open an irrevocable revolving letter of credit in accordance with their power purchase agreement with the petitioner, Polepally Solar Parks. The commission also mandated an additional payment of Rs 300,000 to the petitioner.
