The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has invited bids for the Srinagarind Dam floating solar project 3 in Thailand. The project will have a planned capacity between 363.95 MW and 364 MW. It is estimated to cost around THB 7.13 billion. Reportedly, EGAT will finance the project. The deadline for bid submission is September 26, 2025. The Srinagarind Dam floating solar Project 3 is scheduled to begin commercial operation in 2028. It forms part of EGAT’s plan to develop floating solar projects on dam reservoirs across Thailand, targeting 16 projects with a combined capacity exceeding 2,700 MW.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to provide a bid security of USD 10.44 million or THB 358.132 million. The scope of work includes design, procurement, manufacturing, supply, delivery, project management, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and on-site training. Additionally, the project requires double glass crystalline silicon solar modules, a floating PV system with anchoring and mooring, a 33 kV electrical system with transmission lines, and a control and monitoring system.
Eligible bidders can apply individually, as a joint venture, or as a consortium. At least one partner in a joint venture must act as lead partner. Furthermore, the module manufacturers must have a manufacturing capacity of at least 5,000 MWp annually and be listed as Tier 1 manufacturers by BloombergNEF at the time of the technical bid opening. String inverter suppliers must have an annual production capacity of no less than 4,000 MW and commercial operation experience of at least one project of 30 MWp or more. HDPE floater suppliers must also demonstrate prior experience with at least one floating solar project of 8 MWp or higher.
