REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, transferred the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Limited to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). The transfer followed PGCIL’s selection as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL. The project will be executed under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model and is scheduled for completion in 24 months.
The transmission project, valued at Rs 53.78 billion, is designed to evacuate 3.5 GW of renewable energy from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone. Key components of the project include a 765/400 kV, 2×1,500 MVA substation near Ghiror in Uttar Pradesh, the augmentation of the Barmer-I Pooling Station, and the construction of 283.05 km of 765 kV transmission lines and 43.28 km of 400 kV transmission lines, along with related works.
In November 2024, RECPDCL transferred the SPV for the Khavda V-A Power Transmission Project to PGCIL, on a BOOT basis scheduled for completion within 54 months.
