Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners has acquired a 350 MW solar PV project named Millard Pass. It is located on the Rutland-Lincolnshire border in England’s East Midlands and marks Quinbrook’s second nationally significant infrastructure project (NSIP). Construction of the project is expected to commence in 2026 and operations will begin in 2028.
Furthermore, Quinbrook will use experience from its first NSIP Cleve Hill Solar which will commence generation of solar power by this quarter. Mallard Pass is projected to generate over 14 million MWh of renewable energy throughout its lifespan and reduce carbon emissions by 665,000 tonnes. Additionally, the company also aims to deliver a 71 per cent biodiversity net gain at Mallard Pass.
Companies are actively investing in England’s renewable energy market. Earlier in January 2025, Statera Energy acquired a 680 MW battery energy storage system project at Trafford Low Carbon Energy Park in Greater Manchester. The project is known as Carrington Storage and is expected to be fully energised in 2026.
