Punjab Genco Issues Tenders for 8 MW Solar Projects

Punjab Genco Limited, under the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), has issued a tender for two solar power projects of 4 MW each in Bathinda District. The scope includes design, manufacture, supply, erection, and testing, along with operations and maintenance (O&M) for five years. The last date to submit the bids is December 18, 2024.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit a tender fee of Rs 10,000, evaluation charges of Rs 90,000, an earnest money deposit of Rs 1 million via e-payment, and Rs 3 million as a bank guarantee.

According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must be manufacturers, system integrators, or EPC firms with experience commissioning at least one solar project of 2 MW and O&M experience for 2 MW over one year in the last five. The bidder’s net worth must be positive for the last financial year, with an average annual turnover of Rs 100 million during the past three financial years. Additionally, projects must ensure a minimum 5 MW DC capacity at the site and export excess power to the grid after stepping up to 11kV.

In May 2023, PEDA issued a tender for 7 MW of grid-connected rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations for government buildings in Punjab and Chandigarh, requiring a Rs 1 million earnest money deposit and a 10 per cent performance bank guarantee from the winning bidder.
