Philippines-based PacificLight Power Private Limited (PLP), a subsidiary of MERALCO PowerGen Corporation (MGen), has secured a contract from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) in Singapore to construct, own, and operate two power-generating units. These units, offering a Fast Start generation capacity of 100 MW each, will commence operations by mid-2025.

The 25-year Fast Start contract for the 100 MW hydrogen-ready gas turbine will transition from standstill to full load within 18 minutes. This initiative aligns with PLP’s commitment to meeting growing energy demands while generating low-carbon electricity through a liquefied natural gas plant.
