NTPC Declares Winners of its 3,000 MW FDRE Auction

Results for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 3,000 MW firm and dispatchable renewable power (FDRE) from inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected projects, tranche II, have been announced. The tender for the project was issued in October 2023. The projects will be set up anywhere in India. ABC Cleantech (Axis Energy) and ACME Cleantech Solutions have won 300 MW and 54 MW by quoting Rs 4.64 per kWh and Rs 4.73 per kWh, respectively. Other companies have won the following capacities: Juniper Green Energy – 200 MW and Hero Solar Energy (Hero Future Energies) – 120 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 4.69 per kWh. While, Serentica Renewables India 11 and Tata Power Renewable Energy have each won 200 MW by quoting Rs 4.71 per kWh. Meanwhile, BN Dispatchable-1 (BrightNight Power) – 110 MW and ReNew Solar Power – 400 MW won respective capacities by quoting a tariff of Rs 4.72 per kWh. Of the total tendered capacity, only 1,584 MW was auctioned.

Recently, in March 2024, results were declared for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 1,500 MW of ISTS connected solar power projects, tranche II. The projects will be located across India. Furies Solren (Mahindra Susten) has won 300 MW by quoting Rs 2.59 per kWh. While JSW Neo Energy and Avaada Energy has won 700 MW and 500 MW by quoting Rs 2.6 per kWh. In the same month, results were declared for NTPC Limited’s auction to develop 1,500 MW of ISTS connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, tranche IV. The projects will be located anywhere in India. ABC Cleantech (Axis Energy) has won 750 MW by quoting Rs 3.27 per kWh. While Juniper Green Energy has won 300 MW by quoting Rs 3.29 per kWh. Other companies have won the following capacities: ACME Cleantech Solutions – 150 MW and ReNew Solar Power – 300 MW by quoting a tariff of Rs 3.32 per kWh.
