NHPC Limited has floated a tender for the development of 7.68 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems. This project is being conducted under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The last date for submission of bids is October 29, 2024. The projects will be implemented in four different zones with different capacities. The allocated zones are Zone 1: Jammu and Kashmir (4,102 Kw); zone 2: Himachal Pradesh (1,710 Kw); zone 3: Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (774 kW); and zone 4: Sikkim, West Bengal, and Manipur (1,098 Kw).
According to the tender guidelines, bidders have to pay Rs 5,000 as document fee in Jammu and Kashmir and Rs 1,500 in the other zones. They must submit an earnest money deposit as a bid security of Rs Rs 4 million for Zone 1, Rs 1.78 million for Zone 2, Rs 805,000 for Zone 3, and Rs 1.14 million for Zone 4. The bidders should have a minimum turnover of Rs 81.2 million for zone 1, Rs 33.8 million for zone 2, Rs 15.3 million for zone 3 and Rs 21.7 million for zone 4. The working capital requirements are Rs 45.1 million, 18.8 million, 8.5 million and 12.1 million for zone 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
Furthermore, the projects have to be completed within nine months of Notification of Award. The winning bidder will also have to perform the operation and maintenance of the project for five years.
Recently in September 2024, NHPC floated a tender for 1.2 GW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power projects with a 600 MW/12,000 MWh energy storage system (ESS). It was also accorded with the Navratna status in the same month. In July 2024, Jakson Green inked a power purchase agreement with NHPC for a 400 MW solar project.
