NGEAL Announces Tender for 25 MW/100 MWh BESS Project in Assam

The New and Green Energy of Assam Limited (NGEAL) has floated a tender inviting bids to supply, install, commission, operate, and maintain a 25 MW/100 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The project is located in the 400 kV Kurkurmara (Mirza) grid substation in Kamrup district, Assam. The last date to submit the bids is November 25, 2024.

Bidders must submit a bid security amount of Rs 10 million and a bid document fee of Rs 23,600. The project has a timeline of 12 months. The scope of work involves the supply, installation, commissioning, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of the project. It also includes designing, engineering, procuring, manufacturing, testing, inspecting, packaging, insurance, supplying, delivering, installing, and commissioning, along with all associated civil, electrical, communication, instrumentation, and mechanical works. It also includes the extension of a 132kV bay and the provision of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation materials, commissioning spares, mandatory spares, maintenance tools, equipment, and consumables. Additionally, the contract covers O&M services for the project over a period of 12 years.

Bidders are required to have experience in the design, supply, and erection, or supervision of erection and commissioning, or supervised commissioning of grid-connected solar PV power projects as an EPC contractor with a total installed capacity of 100 MW or more, with at least one project of 25 MW or higher. The reference project of 25 MW or greater capacity must have been operational for at least six months prior to the date of bid submission.

Additionally, bidders should have executed at least one of the following within the last five years: a single work order with a minimum value of Rs 1.45 billion, two work orders, each with a minimum value of Rs 750 million or three work orders, each with a minimum value of Rs 550 million.

Bidders must also have at least five years of experience in the O&M of energy storage systems, solar PV, or BESS hybrid projects and should have an annual turnover of at least Rs 170 million in the past three financial years.
