Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has secured a 2,000 MW pumped storage power project on the Sharavathi river in Karnataka, involving an investment of Rs 80 billion.

The Sharavathi river serves as a crucial source of hydroelectric power in Karnataka, and this project, with its planned total power generation capacity of 2000 MW, stands as the largest pump storage power generation unit in the country.

In July 2023, MEIL was granted the contract to establish Olectra Greentech’s new greenfield electric vehicle production facility at Seetharampur in Hyderabad.
