MAHAPREIT floats tender for distributed solar power in Maharashtra

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has floated a tender inviting bids for 3.2 MW of distributed solar power. The power generated from this will be supplied to Chandrapur Zilla Parishad, Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 23.01 million and they must be commissioned within 360 days from the work order date. The last date to submit the bids is October 11, 2024.

The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects with net metering. The winner will have to operate and maintain the projects for five years.

According to tender guidelines, bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 2.5 million and a tender document fee of Rs 25,000 and a banker solvency certificate for Rs 8 million or above. They should have an aggregate turnover of Rs 200 million in the last five years. They should also have experience installing solar projects from a government organisation, with a minimum single order of 200 kW and a cumulative capacity of 1,500 kW.

In September 2024, MAHAPREIT and NTPC Green Energy entered into a joint venture. The JV company will be responsible for development of 10 GW of Renewable Energy Parks and Projects in Maharashtra or in various other states of India. In August 2024, MAHAPREIT issued request for proposals to install and commission 100 MW grid-connected distributed solar projects. The projects will be set up at various locations in Maharashtra.
