India and Denmark have signed a renewed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, with a focus on clean and sustainable energy solutions.
The MoU, signed between the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities of the Kingdom of Denmark, reaffirms the commitment of both countries to support India’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. It builds on five years of successful collaboration under the previous MoU signed in June 2020, which was originally set to expire in June 2025. The renewed partnership expands the scope of cooperation to include power system modelling, integration of variable renewable energy, cross-border electricity trading, and the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. It also underscores the importance of continued knowledge exchange through expert interactions, joint training programmes, and study tours.
