Hydrom and Thyssenkrupp Nucera Partner for Green Hydrogen Projects in Oman

Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) and thyssenkrupp nucera have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the expanding green hydrogen sector in Oman. The key aspects of this collaboration and future deals include identifying the potential for localisation and exploring service hubs for water electrolysers opportunities. 

Furthermore, Hydrom is the national orchestrator for Oman’s green hydrogen strategy. It has allocated over 2,300 square kilometers of land for large-scale green hydrogen production. It is working to build an integrated ecosystem through strategic partnerships, local applications, and detailed market analyses.

The project is currently in the design phase and is anticipated to begin commercial operations by 2031. The project will generate green hydrogen and ammonia using wind and solar energy, starting with a capacity of about 1.3 GW under phase 1.
