Cubico Sustainable Investments has unveiled plans for Scout Moor II, a 100 MW onshore wind project in England. The project is situated adjacent to the existing Scout Moor wind farm between Edenfield, Rawtenstall, and Rochdale in the North West. With planning approval, Scout Moor II could be operational by 2030, supplying enough renewable electricity to power more than 100,000 homes and meeting approximately 10 per cent of Greater Manchester’s residential energy requirements.

Furthermore, Cubico plans to establish a multi-million-pound Community Wealth Fund and a Moorland Restoration and Management Plan to support local initiatives and biodiversity. With over 250 MW of operational wind and solar projects in the UK and a robust pipeline, Cubico remains committed to accelerating the UK’s green energy transition, with investments of approximately £300 million planned across various sustainable energy projects in the coming years.

Earlier in February 2024, Cubico Sustainable Investments partnered with Italian firm Storaltil Srl to develop over 1 GW of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across Italy.
