Ashoka Buildcon Announces ₹90 Billion Green Hydrogen Plant Investment in Bihar

Ashoka Buildcon plans to invest Rs 90 billion in establishing a green hydrogen plant in Bihar. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bihar government, committing to the development of the project.

The company plans to set up a 1,250 MW solar project to generate clean electricity for producing green hydrogen through water electrolysis. The first phase of the plant is slated to be established in Begusarai, Bihar, with commissioning expected within 1.5 to 2 years after obtaining all necessary clearances. The second phase will commence thereafter.

Ashoka Buildcon, operates in highway construction, power distribution, and solar projects. In December 2024, the company signed a Rs 6,625.5 million joint venture contract with the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) for constructing a link road to the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
